Day 1 – Arrival in Cairo

Morning: Arrival in Cairo

• Arrive at Cairo International Airport, where our representative will greet you and assist with customs and baggage.
• You will then be transferred to your hotel in a private, air-conditioned vehicle. After check-in, you can rest and freshen up after your journey.

Afternoon: Introduction to Cairo

• After settling in, you have the option to explore the area around your hotel or take a short walk through the nearby streets to get a feel for the city. Cairo is a vibrant blend of modernity and ancient history, with bustling markets, street vendors, and impressive architecture all around.

Evening: Rest and Relaxation

• Enjoy dinner at your hotel or a nearby restaurant offering traditional Egyptian dishes like grilled meats, koshari, or falafel.
• Overnight in Cairo, resting and preparing for the exciting tours ahead.

Day 2 – Day Tour to Giza Pyramids, Panoramic Viewpoint, Valley Temple, Sphinx, Sakkara & Memphis

Morning: Giza Pyramids and Surroundings

• After breakfast, you’ll begin your tour at the Giza Plateau, home to the Great Pyramids of Giza. Visit the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the largest of the three, followed by the pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure. These pyramids are marvels of ancient engineering, standing for over 4,500 years. Your guide will explain the significance of the pyramids as tombs for the pharaohs and their religious importance in ancient Egypt.
• Panoramic Viewpoint: From a high point, you’ll be able to capture photos of the pyramids and the vast surrounding desert, with all three pyramids in view.

Midday: Valley Temple and Sphinx

• Next, you will visit the Valley Temple of Khafre, where the body of the king was prepared for mummification. The temple is one of the best-preserved structures of its kind, with impressive granite blocks and statues.
• Adjacent to the temple is the Great Sphinx, the world’s largest monolithic statue, with the body of a lion and the head of a pharaoh. It is believed to represent Khafre, and your guide will share the mysteries and legends associated with the Sphinx.

Afternoon: Lunch and Sakkara

• Lunch Break: Enjoy a traditional Egyptian meal at a nearby restaurant, with dishes like grilled lamb, stuffed vine leaves, or feteer.
• After lunch, you will travel to Sakkara, the ancient burial ground home to the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the earliest large-scale stone construction in Egypt. This pyramid, designed by the architect Imhotep, marked the transition from simple mastaba tombs to the grand pyramids. You’ll also explore the necropolis, which includes tombs of nobles and ancient officials.

Evening: Memphis

• The last stop for the day is Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt during the Old Kingdom. Memphis was once the political and religious center of Egypt. You will visit the open-air museum, where you’ll find the colossal statue of Ramses II and the Alabaster Sphinx. Your guide will explain the city’s importance in Egypt’s history as a center of power and culture.

Day 3 – Day Tour to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization and the Citadel

Morning: National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC)

• After breakfast, begin your day with a visit to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC). This newly opened museum showcases the full breadth of Egypt’s history from prehistoric times to the present day. Midday: Lunch Break

• After your museum visit, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant where you can try dishes like molokhia (green soup made from jute leaves) or kofta (minced meat grilled on skewers).

Afternoon: The Citadel of Saladin

• In the afternoon, you will head to the Citadel of Saladin, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that offers stunning panoramic views of Cairo. The citadel was built in the 12th century by Sultan Saladin to defend Cairo from the Crusaders. It has since become an important historical and cultural landmark.
• Explore the Mosque of Muhammad Ali, also known as the Alabaster Mosque, with its stunning Ottoman-style architecture. The mosque’s grand domes, elegant minarets, and alabaster interiors are a sight to behold. Your guide will provide insight into the history of the mosque and its significance during Muhammad Ali Pasha’s rule.

Day 4 – Day Tour to the Egyptian Museum, Old Cairo, and Khan El Khalili

• Begin your day with a visit to the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square, one of the most famous museums in the world. The museum houses over 120,000 ancient Egyptian artifacts, including the golden treasures of King Tutankhamun, mummies, jewelry, statues, and daily objects from the time of the pharaohs. Marvel at the grandeur of Tutankhamun’s golden mask, his gilded sarcophagi, and the royal treasures discovered in his tomb.

Midday: Old Cairo

• After leaving the museum, you will visit Old Cairo, a district rich in religious history and home to some of Egypt’s oldest Christian and Jewish sites.
• Visit the Hanging Church, also known as the Church of the Virgin Mary, which is built over a Roman fortress and is one of the oldest Christian churches in Egypt.
• Next, see the Ben Ezra Synagogue, said to be the location where baby Moses was found.
• Continue to the Church of St. Sergius and Bacchus, where the Holy Family is believed to have rested during their flight to Egypt.

Afternoon: Lunch and Khan El Khalili Bazaar

• Lunch Break: Enjoy a traditional Egyptian lunch in Old Cairo, with favorites like kebabs and mezze.
• After lunch, explore Khan El Khalili, one of Cairo’s most famous markets, known for its narrow streets and lively atmosphere. Shop for unique souvenirs such as handmade jewelry, spices, perfumes, and textiles. You can also stop by El Fishawi Cafe, one of Cairo’s oldest coffee houses, for a traditional Egyptian tea or coffee.

Evening: Return to Hotel

• Return to your hotel for your final evening in Cairo, enjoying a relaxing dinner and reflecting on the experiences of the past days.

Day 5 – Final Departure

Morning: Departure Preparations

• After breakfast, check out from your hotel and, depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time to explore more of the city or do last-minute shopping.
• You will then be transferred to Cairo International Airport for your departure, ending your 5-day exploration of Cairo’s ancient wonders and cultural heritage.
